About this website...

The question “Can veganism help the planet and significantly reduce our carbon footprint?” has never sounded more relevant. Meat and dairy companies are on track to be the world’s biggest air contributors to climate change. If these industries continue to grow, the livestock sector could be responsible for 80 per cent of the greenhouse emissions by 2050. Veganism, which was recently a radical lifestyle choice, is now slowly becoming a mainstream movement which could be the key to reducing our carbon footprint. So should we all go vegan to help the planet?

You will learn about the detrimental impact of the meat industry on our planet, but also the economic downsides a vegan world could bring. If more and more people reduce their meat consumption significantly, this will directly impact the livelihood of everyone involved in the industry – from farmers and butchers to milk producers and cheese makers. Jump to the Food for Thought section and find out if butchers feel threatened by the rise of veganism or visit the Health menu to see how a vegan diet could affect your health.

Whether you decide to keep the bacon on your plate tonight or throw it in the bin first thing in the morning, there is one undisputable fact I came to realize while creating this project – we eat too much meat, and a more balanced diet could go a long way towards helping global warming. What’s more surprising is that the majority of the experts featured on this website are not vegans or vegetarians and they acknowledge it too. Explore the website and see for yourself if it is beans or beings that could make the difference.
