Diet Types

Before you dive into this website, you might want to look into the different types of vegetarianism. Whether you are planning on cutting down on meat for health or environmental reasons, or simply willing to end your confusion around plant-based eating, here is a list with 7 of the most common veggie diets.

Vegetarians

People who do not eat meat, but may be flexible in terms of eating eggs, milk, cheese, and other products derived from animals.

Vegans

No eggs, dairy, fish oils, and animal derived products. Vegans also abstain from eating animal byproducts such as honey, gelatine, and collagen.

Raw Vegans

The strictest diet. No animal products, no cooked or processed foods as a testament to what humans would eat in the wild without access to fire.

Flexitarians

As their name suggests, flexitarians eat mostly vegetarian but may be more willing to eat animal products sometimes. You can learn more about flexitarians here.

Pescatarians

Vegetarians who eat fish and fish products, and who may or may not also eat dairy or eggs. No meat.

Lacto-vegetarians

Vegetarians who opt for milk, cheese, and yoghurt. However, lacto-vegetarians do not consume eggs.

Ovo-vegetarians

Type of vegetarianism which allows the consumption of eggs but excludes the consumption of dairy products as opposed to lacto-vegetarianism.
